1st Wednesday Prayer Gathering

We are experiencing a unique reawakening to profound reality of God’s unconditional love. Connecting with the truth that God loved us first, and that his love always pursues us, has led to Westside’s first-love awakening.

Connecting to God in a relationship has always been central to Westside’s mission, and prayer is central to this authentic connection.

Westside’s 1st Wednesday Prayer Gathering is an expression of Westside’s desire to seek a deeper personal relationship with God. Westside’s monthly prayer gathering is anchored in scriptures that teach that: God wants us to pray; God hears our prayer; God answers prayer, and prayer draws us closer to God. Over the few past months, participants have learned fresh ways to connect with God’s heart through prayer, have experienced God’s love in prayer, and have honored God by expressing deep gratitude for his love.

Westside’s monthly 45-minute prayer gatherings follow the bible’s teaching on prayer, utilize Jesus’ model for God-honoring prayer, and enlist a variety of prayer topics and methods to encourage a more fruitful prayer life. Everyone is welcome to participate in Westside’s 1st Wednesday Prayer Gatherings to learn more about connecting with God through a deeper prayer life.

CHE Vision Seminar

CHE_Email3.png

The CHE Vision Seminar uses small-group interaction, problem solving and self-discovery. It introduces the why and how of the CHE model as practitioners have used it in communities overseas. It increases understanding of the challenges, best practices, and potential results of the CHE process. It also explores how CHE principles can impact your own discipleship and neighborhood.

The training sessions will be held at Westside Family Church, Lenexa Campus in the Community Room on Friday, May 11 from 6:30 - 9:30pm, and Saturday, May 12 from 8:30am - 5:30pm.

The Guiding Principles of CHE:

  • Development: CHE is a long-term process that respectfully develops the most valuable resource in the community—the people themselves.
  • Community Ownership: The community learns to do their own problem identification, prioritizing, solving and evaluation.
  • Wholistic & Integrated: Many community problems and their solutions are a blend of heart, mind, soul and body.
  • Multiplication: The CHE process is designed so each community can be an example and mentor to other communities. Disciples make disciples.

Parent dedication is a special time set aside where parents dedicate themselves, their child and their parenting efforts to God so that when the child is old enough to understand, they too will choose to follow Christ and then be baptized.

Please attend the preparation class on February 18th at 11am-12pm or March 4th at 5-6pm in the Community Room at WFC Lenexa.
